The Department Of Transportation’s new policy is for all employees to ask the communications director’s permission before speaking with the press. I suggested on Peach Pundit that this is a covert strategy to turn public opinion against the DOT and in favor of commuter rail. Well-played, chaps.

There’s an interesting story on Dorablog about the city’s mayor freaking out when Joseph tried to film one of the meetings. He posted a couple of clips. Hmm (scratches chin) recordings of city council meetings would be a good thing to put on Politics is Vocal.

Yeah. Watching Joseph’s videos made me think about taking my camera to the local NPU meeting.
Hey Rusty, thanks for the link! You and Amber helped inspire me with the idea of posting my video of the Doraville city council to the web. I’d love to do videocasts that can be downloaded via RSS, but I think the bandwidth constraints might be a bit much.
More of the same…
The local Internets are all abuzz over GDOT’s most recent move to shield themselves from public scrutiny, as covered in Ariel Hart’s story in the AJC:Officials at the state Department of Transportation have begun barring direct access from reporters …
Joseph,
No problem! I meant to respond to your email earlier, but it got lost in the shuffle.
And if you guys (or anyone else) want to film meetings, we’ll be happy to host them on the Georgia Podcast Network. We can host basic Quicktime video right now, and have plans for a more elaborate vidcasting setup to be added during our next major site upgrade.
