He finally released (login) his entire military file, and there was nothing new in it.
The lack of any substantive new material about Kerry’s military career in the documents raises the question of why Kerry refused for so long to waive privacy restrictions. An earlier release of the full record might have helped his campaign because it contains a number of reports lauding his service. Indeed, one of the first actions of the group that came to be known as Swift Boat Veterans for Truth was to call on Kerry to sign a privacy waiver and release all of his military and medical records.
But Kerry refused, even though it turned out that the records included commendations from some of the same veterans who were criticizing him.
WTF? I guess he just didn’t want to be president. That’s the only logical conclusion I can reach. So why is he talking about running in 2008? If he’s the nominee again, that’s where I just say “Fuck it” and move to Canada or Europe. The Dems would clearly be throwing elections.

Under no circumstance would I support John Kerry for the nomination again.
Something here smells
In Kerry allows Navy release of military, medical records, the Boston Globe’s Michael Kranish says that a review of the records by the Globe staff reveals … nothing. In fact, says Kranish, the records show that Kerry received commendations and reco…
I really don’t think he was as bad as everybody makes him out to be. I actually thought he was pretty good. But then, I also thought surely anybody was better than Bush. Shows how much I know.
rusty are you going to the blogger meetup or no? want to blaze beforehand or no?
Ditto what Decaturguy said.
I’m still unclear on who supported him for the nomination the first time.
What you’re missing is that this is part of a double-secret plan by the democrats to wait on the side line like a bunch of cheerleaders while the republicans ruin the economy, goodwill, and public confidence of America. After this has been accomplished, they will swoop in after a lengthy debate about the timeliness of “Operation: Non-confrontation” and win back control of a country that no longer resembles the democratic republic we were six years ago. I estimate the action phase of “Operations: Non-confrontation” to begin somewhere around 2048. Don’t let the opportunity pass you by!
I so wanted to vote for Lieberman in the primaries, but because Kerry dominated Iowa, I never got the chance. It does seem like the last two Dem candidates threw the elections, though. I never want to see either of them on a ballot again. It’s funny, because in the past, election losers have gone on to have success (Nixon, Bush I). Today, we seem very quick to categorize candidates as winners or failures and never look at them again.
Joseph….John Kerry was backed by “Big Ketchup” but President Bush had “Big Mustard” and “Big Steak Sauce” in his corner. That is how he got the nomination and lost the subsequent presidental bid.
BTW Amber…not to be confrontational, because I am not that (with my tongue lodged in my cheek), but what makes you think that John Kerry would have been good? It was like the democrats said “fuck it find the one guy who did nothing in his political history, and he can run.”
I dont know who they’re going to run, but Harry Reid warmed the cockles of my heart with his little blurb in Rolling Stone. It’s the one with Dave Matthews Band on the cover. It’s worth reading. I dont know shit about him, but for five minutes, I
Yeah, I broke my own comment. Anyway, for five minutes I loved the man.
I was probably one of the first Kerry supporters in the country (Late December 2002). Smart guy, poorly run campaign…..
2008 is too far away to tell, but I don’t have a front runner yet for the primaries, whoever it is will likely get my vote in the fall.
Otherwise, I could vote Green or Libertarian.
I will never, ever vote for a Republican.
I thought he had some really good ideas. I really don’t get why everyone keeps giving him such a hard time.
That big mustard comment shows some real insight. I now see how a person who would vote for a candidate like Bush thinks.
Rusty’s right. It really is puzzling as to why he didn’t use it.
They all would’ve caught hell from the press.
Who else other than Kerry could’ve done better? We will never know. My personal speculation is no one. Dr. Dean would’ve been destroyed, I think. I think Gephardt would’ve lost by maybe 8. Clarke I thought was good, but I think he had some old quotes they could’ve drug out on him. Lieberman was unexciting (yes, even more so than JK), and too centrist. Edwards, I fear, was not ready for prime time. The rest I think were fringe candidates at best, and I would’ve voted for every one of them over that stupid ass Bush.
Its an interesting question….
What I don’t get is how the Republicans got away with calling Kerry inexperienced. He may not have had a lot of foreign policy experience, but other than purchasing Columbian cocaine, neither had Bush before he bcame President.
They ran a good campaign and protected their weak candidate by going negative, drumming up bullshit issues like gay marriage and wrapping themselves up in the flag.
Kerry’s campaign didn’t get it done. They lost….BARELY lost….
